Authenticity in the Workplace: Workforce SynQ + Emerge Panel Recap

The Workforce SynQ panel and moderator pose for a photo.

Our latest Workforce SynQ + Emerge program brought together LGBTQ+ leaders from across the Kansas City community for an honest and informative conversation about authenticity in the workplace.

Panelists shared their personal experiences navigating the workplace, including being out, leading with authenticity, and the challenges and opportunities they’ve encountered throughout their careers. They also explored how organizations can foster environments where people feel empowered to bring their whole selves to work.

Members had the opportunity to learn, listen, and connect with one another while enjoying coffee and a delicious spread of Donutology donuts.

A huge thank you to McGownGordon for hosting and to our panelists, Brandy Williams of MOCSA, James Maiden of McCownGordon Construction, and Trey Williams of MMGY, for sharing their experiences and insights. And a special thank you to E. Williams of Henderson Engineers for moderating such a thoughtful discussion.

We’re grateful for the leaders who continue to share their stories and help create workplaces where authenticity is valued and everyone feels empowered to show up as their full selves.
