Our August Coffee Connections brought together Chamber members and community partners for a meaningful morning of networking, learning and connection at the Alzheimer’s Association Heart of America Chapter.
Over coffee and a delicious spread of donuts, attendees had the opportunity to connect with fellow members while learning more about the Alzheimer’s Association’s mission and the important work happening right here in our community.
The Heart of America Chapter serves individuals living with dementia and their families and care partners throughout Kansas and Missouri, offering education, support, advocacy and opportunities to get involved.
We also learned more about some of the Alzheimer’s Association’s upcoming initiatives, including the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, which brings communities together to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. We heard about Do What You Love to End ALZ, an opportunity to turn the activities and passions you already enjoy, from hiking and golfing to crafting and hosting a cookout, into a fundraiser supporting the fight against Alzheimer’s and all other dementia.
Our Coffee Connections events are designed to create an open and welcoming space for members to meet new people, share what they do and learn more about the organizations making an impact in our community. This month, we were grateful to have the opportunity to learn from the Alzheimer’s Association and discover more ways our community can support their mission.
Thank you to the Alzheimer’s Association Heart of America Chapter for hosting us and welcoming our Chamber community!
