The Midland Theatre is a historic entertainment venue nestled in the heart of downtown Kansas City's Power & Light District. Originally opened in 1927 and designed by renowned architect Thomas Lamb, the venue showcases stunning 1920s architecture. After a multi-million dollar renovation, The Midland reopened in 2008 through a partnership with The Cordish Companies and AEG Presents, quickly becoming one of the city's premier entertainment destinations.

The venue offers flexible seating configurations from standing room to theater-style to full banquet setups, with a live-show capacity ranging from 1,300 to 3,000. This versatility makes it ideal for hosting a wide array of events, including live music, comedy, performance art, and private rentals.

With its historic elegance and modern amenities, The Midland delivers a premium event experience. It has welcomed iconic performers such as Paul Simon, Sabrina Carpenter, Jon Batiste, Jerry Seinfeld, B.B. King, Bryson Tiller, ZZ Top, Chappell Roan, Ivan Cornejo, and many more.

Connections! With diverse programming at the venue, we strive to make connections with our community, and the Chamber is a great resource for that.

What would you like our Chamber members to know about your business which isn’t necessarily obvious?

We started as a movie theatre as The Loew's Midland Theatre, and didn't start with concert and broadway productions until the 80s, including a short stint as home for the Major League Bowling team, the All Stars.
