Tell us a little about your business?

Established in 2001, Happy Faces Entertainment and KC Mystery Players have brought smiles to thousands of people, across the country. Always looking to find the smile in every person, laughter is guaranteed at every performance. HFE provides professional entertainment and team building in almost any venue. From school assemblies, fundraiser walks, Family FUNday Sundays at the Kansas City Royals to corporate parties and staff development, there is a show for everyone. On-stage or among the crowd, Happy Faces Entertainment will put smiles on everyone’s face at your event!

Happy Faces Entertainment and KC Mystery Players provide professional, live entertainment and team building for all ages, in almost any venue. We provide a true variety of options: magic, storytelling, clowning, drag, emcee, game shows, murder mysteries, strolling entertainers and more. From school assemblies and fundraiser walks, to corporate parties and staff development, there is a show or program for many private and public events. On-stage or among the crowd, Happy Faces Entertainment puts smiles on faces at events.

What's a recent success story or milestone you're proud of?

April 2026 will celebrate 25 years of Happy Faces Entertainment. While it all began performing in my parent’s living room as a child, HFE officially started by clowning at a birthday party for a friend’s kid. Since then, there have been many HFE Smile Makers spreading joy at all kinds of events, across the nation and internationally. The gratitude I have for a career that creates smiles and laughter for every person I meet, of every age, is unexplainable. I live my passion of sharing joy and encouraging that joy to be passed along, to make the world better because we are here.

 

What do you love most about being part of this Chamber?

This Chamber has a huge heart that is always welcoming you to "pull up a chair and chat". While staying a professional organization, there is always a laid-back, friendly feel to events. There is a joy that you can feel when we get together, in any size of group. Be 100% yourself and let's see how we can support each other.

What would you like our Chamber members to know about your business which isn’t necessarily obvious?

As a variety performing artist, the talent that is used consistently throughout is improvisational theatre. The skills I use from my improv training allow me to create new interactions with each audience, even within a planned or “scripted” performance. There is always an opportunity to create with my audience. Sometimes that may be a new story made-up on the spot with a group of children or inventing a new backstory for a character in a murder mystery with an adult. As a strolling entertainer at events, I create new characters and ways to connect with the attendees (even those I meet year after year). I may start my art by myself or other writers by creating an outline. The final creation is a collaboration with the audience members. You could say my art is created by the hand of imagination.
